HOW TO GARDEN: HOW TO INCREASE YOUR CROP YIELDS IN YOUR GARDEN

Gardening is a very satisfying hobby, and it provides many benefits. Whether you grow veggies or flowers, there's something about raising plants that is very rewarding. In the following information, you'll find some suggestions that will improve the way that you garden.
A gardening tip you can use is rubbing alcohol and vinegar and use it to remove any salt deposits that have formed in clay pots. Salt deposits sometimes develop on clay pots with plants in them. Make a solution with equal parts rubbing alcohol, water and white vinegar. Spray this on clay pots where salt deposits have built up. Use a plastic brush to scrub the salt away easily. Use some clear water to rinse the pot before planting anything else in it.
Are fresh mint leaves something you love but cannot stand how quickly they grow all over your garden? You can stunt the growth of mint by planting it inside a container or super-sized bowl. You can then plant the container down in the ground if you like, but the walls of the container will hold the roots captive, and keep the plant from taking over your garden!
In a small garden, plant a dwarf fruit tree. The gardens on city lots are usually compact, but there will always be room for dwarf fruit trees. These little trees bear full-sized fruit within only 3-5 years. The best time to plant your dormant trees is early springtime, and remember to water them liberally until they are well established.
You need to water your plants properly. If you over water plants, their roots will rot, while under watering causes the plants to become dry and wither. Monitor the moisture content of your soil to ensure proper water levels.
Some houseplants may require re-potting, and others resent having their roots disturbed. To check the roots of your plants, simply up-end the pot and gently tap the bottom. The plant will slide out into your hand, and you can look at the roots. If a lot of roots are visible, use a new pot. If you can only see a few roots, it means your plant is growing well in the pot, and doesn't need to be transplanted.
Pouring the excess water from your dinner of steamed veggies on them can help. You can also use tea or coffee grounds to acidify soil for plants such as rhododendrons and gardenias. Chamomile tea is a good remedy against fungus.
Use climbers for covering fences and walls. Plants that climb are extraordinarily versatile, and can help hide an unsightly wall or fence, usually within one season. They also have been known to grow through existing trees or shrubs, or can be easily taught to cover any size arbor. There are those that have to be fixed to a support, but others will find a surface to cling to all on their own through twining stems or tendrils. You can be sure that varieties such as climbing roses, wisteria, jasmine, clematis and honeysuckle will grow very well.
Plant some perennials in your garden that repel slugs. A particularly vulnerable plant can be killed by snails and slugs overnight. They gravitate towards perennials with smooth thin leaves, particularly on younger plants. Some perennials, however, leave a bad taste in slugs' mouths or are difficult to chew through because their leaves aren't tender. Some of examples of these are achillea, heuchera, campanula, helleborus, and euphorbia.
Gardening is a wonderful hobby that can be very rewarding. The benefits you gain from having a garden never end! You will have fresh veggies and beautiful flowers. Take your gardening to greater heights of enjoyment with the tips you've gotten here.
